Before you start
Step-by-step
Choose the Wi-Fi tab
Open QR Maker and select Wi-Fi rather than the URL or contact tab. Keep the network name exactly as configured, including capitalization.
Enter the network details
Choose the network’s security type and enter its name and password. The fictional example below is for practice only and will not connect to a real network.
Keep the code easy to scan
Start with a dark code on a light background. For the first test, avoid logos and decorative changes. Use a useful filename and download the PNG.
Test before printing
Scan the downloaded image on another screen, then scan a print at the intended size and distance. Confirm the phone offers the correct network and can actually join it with your real guest-network settings.
Worked example
Practice with fictional guest-network settings
Select WPA and enter JYE-Demo-Guest as the SSID and ExampleOnly123 as the password. Download the PNG and scan it. The phone may offer that network, but it cannot connect because the example does not describe an actual access point. Replace the details with your permitted guest network before printing.
- Tab / security
- Wi-Fi / WPA
- Example SSID
- JYE-Demo-Guest
- Example password
- ExampleOnly123 (fictional)
- Output
- PNG; dark code on a light background
Check the result
- The scan identifies the exact intended guest network.
- A test phone can join the real network.
- The printed code scans at the intended size and viewing distance.
Limits and tips
- A Wi-Fi QR PNG is not secret: it contains the network credentials. Prefer a separate guest network.
- Phone support and network settings vary; successful decoding alone does not prove a connection.
- If names or passwords contain punctuation, test the actual result carefully before sharing.
- Changing the network password requires generating and distributing a new code.
Questions
Can I download a PNG?
Yes. Use the tool’s PNG download control after entering the network details.
Can I add a logo?
The design controls support a logo, but test the final design on a phone. Decoration can reduce scan reliability.
Why does scanning work but joining fail?
Check the SSID, security type, and password against the real guest network. A fictional example can decode without connecting.
Try it with your own file
Open the tool and review the result before sharing it.
