JYE LABS practical guide

How to split a PDF and extract selected pages

Use this free PDF splitter when you need to send a few pages from a longer document. Select the page thumbnails rather than typing a range. You can download individual pages or keep the selected pages together in one PDF.

A PDF you are allowed to edit
The pages you want to keep
A choice between individual files and one combined PDF

Step-by-step

  1. Open your PDF

Drop the PDF onto the tool or choose it from your device. Wait for the thumbnail previews to appear. The thumbnail numbers refer to the file order, which may differ from page numbers printed inside the document.

  2. Select the pages you need

Click the thumbnails you want to export. Use the rotation button if a page is sideways. For a consecutive section, select each page in that section; there is no numeric range input.

  3. Choose the output and order

Choose separate PDFs to make individual files, or combine the selected pages into one PDF. In the default mode, pages follow their original page-number order. Enable custom order and click the thumbnails in your desired sequence to change that order.

  4. Download and check

Process the selected pages, give the download a useful filename if needed, and save it. Multiple files are packaged in a ZIP; a single result downloads as a PDF. Open the saved files to check the selected pages and their rotation.

Worked example

Illustrative example

Send only two pages from a ten-page report

Suppose you need pages 2 and 7. Select those two thumbnails and combine them into one PDF. To put page 7 first, turn on custom order before selecting 7, then 2. The expected result is a two-page PDF; check the downloaded file before sending it.

Check the result

  • Both selected pages are present and readable.
  • The page order and rotation match your selection.
  • If you downloaded a ZIP, extract it and open each PDF.

Limits and tips

  • The tool selects pages visually. It does not accept typed ranges such as 1-5.
  • Preview generation can take longer for large documents. If a file fails, try a smaller sample.
  • Editing can change signatures, forms, or other PDF features. Keep the original and check any features you rely on.

Questions

Can I save selected pages as one PDF?

Yes. Choose the option to combine selected pages instead of saving each page separately.

Can I reorder the pages?

Yes. Enable custom order and select the thumbnails in the sequence you want. Without that mode, selected pages follow the original page order.

Does the file go to a processing server?

PDF splitting and thumbnail processing run in your browser. The site also makes separate connections for page delivery, analytics, and external resources. See the privacy policy for details.
